Located in the Uvas Valley (Uvas is Spanish for grapes), the
vinyards are planted on the southern slopes of the Santa Cruz
Mountains. Nikola Kirigin learned the basics of winemaking at his
parents' winery in Croatia. Coming to this country in 1959, he
worked at wineries in New York and California before taking over
this historic facility in 1976.
